Rumour has it that EA Dice are planning a pay-to-play content pack for Battlefield 3, with unique items like a new knife and dog tags, camo patterns and Assignments.
The news blog at BF site Battlefieldo has a statement about the upcoming DLC, from where we do not know: “Battlefield™ Premium will land you a number of content drops with unique in-game items not available anywhere else. First out is the one-of-a-kind Premium knife and black dog tag, plus a set of soldier camos, weapon camos, dog tags and Assignments that will make sure you stand out and get more personalization options.”
The quote isn’t too specific, but the rumor does make it sound like EA Dice might be planning some kind of subscription service, maybe along the lines of Activisions Elite, which gives you a full year of downloadables for one, heavily discounted price. The source claims that this, and perhaps a few new DLC packs, will be announced on june 4th, which matches EA’s press conference at this year’s E3 in Los Angeles. So I suppose we’ll just have to wait until then to find out for sure.
