In a report by Nikkei, former Nintendo president Hiroshi Yamauchi died today. He was 85.
Yamauchi was the third president of Nintendo, and he first assumed the position in 1949. Under his leadership, it entered the electronics market and became a a global leader in the video game industry.
He was succeeded by current Nintendo President Satoru Iwata in 2002, but Yamauchi continued serve as a special advisor.
