An image leaked via Reddit containing references to a World Esports Association seems to confirm the existence of a major new eSports body. This image hints at a formal league or organisation of top European eSports teams with involvement from ESL.
A comment from Duncan “Thorin” Shields, a journalist and noted commentator in the CS:GO scene, apparently confirmed the image’s veracity: “Someone is looking to get fired. You have directly, whether intentionally or not, leaked an as yet unannounced deal which has enormous repercussions for eSports.”
Logos from ESL appear alongside team logos from Fnatic, NiP, Mousesports, G2, Na’vi, Envyus, Virtus Pro, and Faze Clan. While it’s strongly suggested that this association of teams and ESL portends an announcement of some sort, it’s unclear what the aim of the World Esports Association would be.
